GUADALUPE DE LA TORRE - MONTANO

Born into a family of artists in Aguascalientes, Ags.
Mexico, Guadalupe de la Torre grew up with art as a natural way of life. She began her art instruction in Guadalajara at the age of 12, where she learned a classical style of painting. She has since studied
technical drawing, and commercial art and has
established and operated an art studio for several
years.
Guadalupe enjoys painting her beloved Mexico and its people. She truly captures these subjects in
photographic detail and vivid colors, often
incorporating her children , family or friends in her
work. Although she works with wash, watercolor, pastel and ink, de la Torre prefers to create in oil and acrylic. Due to health problems she had to give up oils.

Her work has been shown in galleries and exhibits
throughout the Southwest and Mexico and she has won several awards including Master's Meed Award five times at the Art Festival of Tubac, Arizona. Having established a fine reputation as a teacher of paintings, sculpture and drawing, de la Torre teaches privately and conducts art seminars in the Southwest.
As a dedicated artist, her art studies, work and
teaching have spanned over four decades. In other
words, art is her life.
